Aishwarya Rai Bachchan  and Leander Paes inaugurate Kunal Thakkur & Mrunal Jain’s Tennis Premier League

Kunal Thakkur and Mrunal Jain‘s much awaited Tennis Premier League was launched by Mrs. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and tennis legend Leander Paes amidst much fanfare at the Celebration Sports Club. In attendance were the whose who of television & film industry. Kunal’s childhood tennis buddy Shashank Khaitan played an exhibition match along with Leander Paes.

An ecstatic Kunal says, “We are so happy to have Aishwarya mam and  Leander sir along with Shashank Khaitan support this initiative of ours…they spared time from their busy schedules to support children and our wheelchair players which was a great motivation for them.  I am happy that we are doing our bit to popularize tennis as a sport.
Mrunal, too is thrilled. He says that ” it is amazing that what a phenomenal response we have got for our league. We are grateful to Aishwarya mam and Leander sir  who has come all the way from Paris. It means a lot that they did the honours as our chief guests.  With their support and good wishes we are sure that Tennis Premier League will become as big as IPL. We promise to get tennis to your homes.”

The league will see six teams competing with each other and eminent and super successful faces from the TV industry will be representing each team. Rashami Desai, Tejasswi Prakash, Niti Taylor, Sumona Chakravarti, Pooja Gor & Aishwarya Sakhuja are the six faces of their respective teams. Many other people from the TV fraternity also attended the event.  Director Vishal Bhardwaj will also be playing an exhibition match on the 26th. Ace tennis player Ankita Raina will also be attending the league.
